8-Day Itinerary

+ Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu

Arrive in Chengdu, "the Land of Abundance."
Meet your guide at the airport/train station and transfer to hotel.

+ Day 2: Chengdu → Jiuzhaigou Region

Visit Dujiangyan Irrigation System (UNESCO World Heritage, 2,200+ years old).
Stop at Diexi Lake, formed by a 1933 earthquake, now a beautiful alpine lake.
Stroll around Songpan Ancient Town (historic frontier town, no wall climb).
Continue to Jiuzhaigou entrance area.

+ Day 3: Jiuzhaigou National Park

Full-day exploration of Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area (approx. 6 hours).
Enjoy breathtaking lakes, waterfalls, snow-capped peaks, and Tibetan culture.

Overnight: Jiuzhaigou

+ Day 4: Jiuzhaigou → Chengdu

Choose one of two experiences:
Option A:
Horseback ride through ancient Tibetan villages & barley fields.
Visit a local Tibetan family: taste butter tea, roasted potatoes, homemade barley wine.
Experience prayer flag ceremony for good fortune.
Option B:
Excursion to Shenxian Pool (Fairy Pool), an alpine natural reserve.
Return to Chengdu in the evening.

+ Day 5: Chengdu Panda & City Highlights

Visit Chengdu Panda Breeding Base (approx. 2 hours).
Stroll through People's Park, join locals for tea culture experience.

Explore Jinli Street by night.

+Day 6: Chengdu → Xi'an

Free morning at leisure.

Visit Huaqing Palace (hot springs, Tang legends, Xi'an Incident).

Visit Da Ci'en Temple & Big Wild Goose Pagoda (exterior).

Walk through Big Wild Goose Pagoda North Square (largest music fountain in Asia).
Explore Bell & Drum Tower Square & Muslim Quarter for snacks & souvenirs.

    Terracotta Army

    The Terracotta Army, one of the world’s greatest archaeological discoveries, is part of the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. Dating back over 2,000 years, this massive underground army consists of thousands of life-sized warriors, horses, and chariots, each uniquely crafted. The site includes three main pits and a museum, providing an incredible glimpse into the military power and craftsmanship of ancient China.

    Dujiangyan

    Located in the western part of Chengdu Plain, in the city of Dujiangyan, Sichuan Province, this ancient water conservancy project sits on the Minjiang River. It was originally constructed during the late Qin Dynasty under the command of Governor Li Bing and his son, who built it based on earlier works by the legendary figure Bie Ling. The Dujiangyan system, which includes the Fish Mouth, Flying Sand Weir, and Baopingkou, is the world’s oldest and largest water engineering project still in use today. Notably, it is unique for its ability to divert water without the use of dams.This marvel of ancient Chinese engineering represents the diligence, bravery, and wisdom of the country’s ancient laborers. It is a testament to the ingenuity that continues to shape modern China.

    Diexi Lake – The Sunken Town of Sichuan

    Diexi Lake, tucked away in Maoxian County of Sichuan, is a beautiful alpine lake with a remarkable story. Its crystal-clear waters are framed by mountains and forests, creating postcard-perfect scenery. What makes it truly unique is that the lake was formed by a powerful earthquake in 1933, which submerged the old town of Diexi beneath the water. On clear days, visitors can still spot ancient towers and relics beneath the surface, earning it the name “the Atlantis of the East.”

    Giant Wild Goose Pagoda

    A symbol of Xi’an, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is a Buddhist landmark built in the Tang Dynasty to house sacred scriptures brought from India by the monk Xuanzang. The pagoda stands within the Da Ci'en Temple complex and is an architectural masterpiece reflecting ancient Buddhist culture. In the evening, visitors can enjoy a spectacular music fountain show in the surrounding square.


    Huaqing Pool

    Located at the foot of Mount Li, Huaqing Pool is famous for its hot springs and imperial gardens. It served as a royal retreat for emperors throughout history, most notably as the love retreat of Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei during the Tang Dynasty. Visitors can explore ancient bath relics, traditional Chinese architecture, and even enjoy the grand historical performance The Song of Everlasting Sorrow.

    Bell and Drum Towers

    Standing in the heart of Xi’an, the Bell Tower and Drum Tower are two of the city’s most iconic historical landmarks. The Bell Tower, originally used to announce time during the Ming Dynasty, offers panoramic views of the city. The nearby Drum Tower features a collection of ancient drums and hosts live drumming performances, providing a glimpse into traditional Chinese timekeeping methods.


    Songzhou Ancient Town

    Nestled on the northwestern plateau of Sichuan in Songpan County, Songzhou Ancient Town stands like a living chronicle of history. First built during the early Tang Dynasty, it has weathered centuries of change and witnessed countless historical events. Its towering ancient walls and gray-tiled roofs are steeped in the passage of time. Once a bustling hub along the ancient Tea Horse Road, it was a vital stop for merchants and travelers.     Jiuzhaigou Valley

    Jinli Ancient Street is an old street that carries the culture of the Three Kingdoms and the folk customs of Western Sichuan.
