Dujiangyan & Qingcheng Mountain
“Visit the Water Town of Dujiangyan, Seek the Way at Qingcheng Mountain.” Qingcheng Mountain is one of the origins of Taoism and a stunning natural landscape. Here, the mountains are lush and the waters clear, shrouded in mist, resembling a captivating landscape painting. The ancient trees in the front mountain reach for the sky, with Taoist temples scattered harmoniously; the back mountain features babbling streams and cascading waterfalls. Here, you can appreciate the profound richness of Taoist culture and experience the wonders of nature. Additionally, Qingcheng Mountain is a summer retreat, and visiting in the summer will surely refresh your spirit.
Dujiangyan, built by Li Bing and his son, is one of the outstanding examples of ancient hydraulic engineering. It cleverly harnesses the natural terrain and water resources, using a "dam-free water diversion" method to solve the irrigation and flood control issues of the Chengdu Plain. Standing on the Anlan Suspension Bridge, gazing at the full view of the Dujiangyan project, the rushing water beneath your feet will leave you in awe of the wisdom and courage of the ancients. Here, you can not only learn about the historical background and engineering principles of Dujiangyan but also understand its profound impact on the Chengdu Plain and the entire Sichuan region.
