5-Day Itinerary

+ DAY 1: Chengdu – Kangding – Provincial Road 434 – Moxi Park – Yuzi West – Xinduqiao/Yajiang

The group departs from Chengdu city center and heads towards Kangding. After lunch in Kangding and a short rest, continue the journey along Provincial Road 434 [Snow Mountain and Scenic Road], passing through [Honghaizi]. The visit here will last no less than 10 minutes. Known as the "Sky Mirror Hidden Between Mountains and Seas," it is located by the side of Kangding 434 Airport Road. The lake is clear and blue, with lush grass along the shore in spring and summer, and colorful mountain flowers in full bloom. In autumn and winter, the lakeside is covered with snow, resembling a white veil, while mist and light smoke drift above the water, creating a dreamy, ethereal atmosphere. The visit will last around 10 minutes, with a distant view of Stinco Lake, then proceed to [Moxi Park], where the visit will last no less than 1.5 hours. Moxi Park is a world-renowned geological wonder, often referred to as an "alien planet." The park features magnificent grasslands, delicate wetlands, fantastical black stones, traditional houses, alpine flower fields, golden autumn colors, the sacred White Tower Temple, and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Next, head to Yuzi West, located at an altitude of about 4,200 meters. The visit will last around 1 hour, with a sightseeing time of no less than 30 minutes. This is a famous spot for capturing the stunning sunset views of western Sichuan, a place where you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view surrounded by snow-capped mountains. From here, you can see Mount Yala, the Gongga Mountain Range, and Qingyao Mountain. On clear evenings, you might witness the breathtaking "Sunshine on the Golden Mountain," believed to bring good luck for the entire year. After the visit, return to Xinduqiao town, which is approximately 1 hour by car. After dinner, check into the hotel.
Warm Tips:

1. About the Gathering: The general departure time is 07:00 AM (subject to change; the guide will notify you the night before). During holidays, the departure time may be brought forward to around 5:00 AM, and the pick-up time may be adjusted by 1-1.5 hours earlier.

2. Guide Contact: The guide will contact you between 18:00 and 21:00 the night before departure. Please remember the departure time, location, car plate number, and guide’s details, and keep your phone available. If you do not receive any contact by 21:00, please reach out to us.

3. Traffic Delays: During peak season, you may encounter traffic congestion. Please bring some snacks for the journey.

4. Itinerary Adjustments: The guide may adjust the order of visits depending on road and traffic conditions.

5. Weather Conditions: The weather in plateau regions is unpredictable, and some mountain passes have high altitudes with strong winds. When visiting Yuzi West, please bring warm clothes, scarves, hats, and other items for wind protection and warmth.

6. Road Conditions at Yuzi West: The roads are in poor condition, and during peak seasons, heavy traffic may cause significant delays. The return time to Xinduqiao cannot be predicted.

7. Luggage Restrictions: Each person is allowed to carry only 1 suitcase with a maximum size of 24 inches. Please plan your packing accordingly.

+ DAY 2: Xinduqiao/Yajiang – Tianlu 18 Bends – Karsela Mountain – Litang – Riwa

After breakfast, depart for Tianlu 18 Bends [Tianlu 18 Bends Viewing Platform]. No ticket is required. The viewing time is at least 10 minutes, and the altitude is around 3,900 meters. The total visiting time is about 20 minutes. The road at Tianlu 18 Bends is U-shaped, and there are three viewing platforms along the way where you can enjoy the spectacular road scenery. Next, visit the [Karsela Mountain Viewing Platform], no ticket is required. The visit lasts at least 10 minutes, and the total time spent is about 10 minutes. Lunch includes the specialty dish, [Cod Fish Hotpot]. After lunch, continue the journey to Litang and visit [Letong Ancient Town] for at least 20 minutes. "Letong" means bronze, and "Tong" means grassland, symbolizing a flat grassland as smooth as a bronze mirror. Letong Ancient Town and its Thousand-House Tibetan Village is the place where the reincarnation prophecy in the poetry of the 6th Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, originated. It is also the place where the popular figure Ding Zhen works. The town retains a strong Tibetan cultural atmosphere. Afterward, head to the Sangdui Snowy Plateau Service Center (a high-altitude travel knowledge center) for 20-30 minutes to learn about high-altitude prevention. The service center offers winter clothing, oxygen, and anti-altitude sickness medications for sale. Staff will be available to provide explanations, and if needed, please exercise caution when purchasing. This is not related to the travel agency. Please be aware! In the evening, arrive in Riwa Town for dinner and then return to the hotel to rest.
Kind Reminders:

1. No ticket is required to visit Letong Ancient Town. Museum tickets are optional and can be purchased if desired. Please plan your time accordingly if you choose to visit the museum.

2. Accommodation and itinerary may be adjusted depending on the day's traffic conditions. Please be aware.

+ DAY 3: Yiwa – Yading Scenic Area – Daocheng

After breakfast, depart for the scenic area, and enjoy a full-day tour of Daocheng Yading. In the evening, check-in to the hotel for rest.

Reminder:

1. Starting from July 13, the Yading Scenic Area has temporarily suspended access to the Gongga Lake to Five-Color Lake and Milk Lake areas. The reopening time will be announced separately. The closure only affects the Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake areas. Other attractions in the scenic area are not affected and can be visited as usual.

2. The scenic area is free for activities on that day, and you may arrange your itinerary at your own pace. Please plan your route according to your physical condition and make sure to check the schedule for the last sightseeing bus of the day.

+ DAY 4: Daocheng – Litang – Xinduqiao Viewing Platform – Tagong – Bamei/Danba

After breakfast, depart for Bamei, with an estimated driving time of about 7 hours. On the way, stop at the Xinduqiao Viewing Platform to experience a blessing activity (such as hand-painted Mani stones and scripture rubbing). Continue along the road and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the 318 Sichuan-Tibet Highway, taking in the stunning road views of western Sichuan’s Ganzi region. Arrive at Tagong, where you will have at least 10 minutes to explore and enjoy the beautiful grassland scenery and Tibetan-style temple architecture. In the evening, arrive at either Bamei or Danba. After dinner, check in to the hotel and rest.

1. The itinerary today is relatively tight, with a long driving time. During peak season or if there is traffic, the hotel arrival time may be late. It is recommended to bring some snacks with you.

2. In peak season, the accommodation or sightseeing order may be adjusted based on actual circumstances.

+ DAY 5: Bamei/Danba – Mount Siguniang – Maoniling – Chengdu


Itinerary for the Day:
After breakfast, depart for the Siguniang Mountain Shuangqiao Valley Scenic Area, with at least 3 hours allocated for sightseeing. Recommended way to explore: A combination of sightseeing bus and hiking.
Typical sightseeing route:
Take the scenic area shuttle bus at the entrance, and after about 40 minutes, reach the end point at the Red Cedar Forest. From there, walk back to the entrance, passing through the following spots: Red Cedar Forest – Potala Peak – Siguniang Lake – Nianyu Dam – Longzhu Lake – Yunshan Yu Service Center – Ginseng Fruit Plain – Scenic Area Entrance. There are shuttle buses at each scenic spot in Shuangqiao Valley. However, it is recommended to walk between some of the points, especially between Potala Peak – Siguniang Lake, Nianyu Dam, Longzhu Lake – Yunshan Yu Service Center, as these areas offer beautiful photo opportunities. After finishing the sightseeing, the driver will meet you at the entrance of the scenic area. Next, head to the Maoniling Viewing Platform, with at least 15 minutes to enjoy the view. Maoniling Viewing Platform has no entrance fee. It is an excellent spot to enjoy the panoramic view of Siguniang Mountain, including breathtaking views of the sunrise and sunset. Standing here, you can see the four peaks stretching from north to south in a row. Among them, the Yao Mei Peak, at 6,250 meters, stands out remarkably. Afterward, cross over Balang Mountain and arrive in Chengdu around 8:00 PM, marking the end of the tour.

The 18 Bends of the Tian Road

Along the route, there are three scenic viewpoints where visitors can overlook the majestic valleys and winding roads, resembling a beautiful painting. Tagong

Tagong is a hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of the region's natural beauty and Tibetan culture. This expansive plateau, surrounded by stunning mountains, is a paradise for nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The grassland stretches endlessly under vast blue skies, dotted with wildflowers and grazing yaks, creating a serene and picturesque landscape. Letong Ancient Town

"Le" means bronze, and "Tong" means grassland, symbolizing the flat, mirror-like grasslands. Letong Ancient Town and the Thousand-Household Tibetan Village is the place where the reincarnation of the 6th Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, was foretold in his poetry. The natural scenery around Letong is unique, with vast grasslands and distant snow-capped mountains adding a mysterious charm to the area. The town is rich in traditional Tibetan life, offering a deep cultural experience.
