Tour 'Wow' Points

Shamian Island

Shamian Island, located on the north bank of the Pearl River, was once the British and French concession in the 19th century. Today, it is known for its elegant collection of European-style buildings, featuring Neoclassical, Gothic, and Baroque designs. Walking through its tree-lined streets feels like stepping into another era, where the charm of old-world Europe blends seamlessly with Guangzhou’s local culture.

Sacred Heart Cathedral (Stone House Cathedral)

The Sacred Heart Cathedral, also known as the Stone House Cathedral, is one of Guangzhou’s most famous landmarks. Built between 1863 and 1888, this grand Catholic church showcases classic Gothic architecture with twin spires and magnificent stained-glass windows. The spacious interior can accommodate thousands of worshippers. More than just a religious center, the cathedral stands as a cultural icon that reveals a fascinating chapter of Guangzhou’s history.

Chen Clan Ancestral Hall (Chen Clan Academy)

The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, now the Guangdong Folk Art Museum, is a masterpiece of traditional Lingnan architecture. Constructed during the Qing Dynasty by members of the Chen family from 72 counties in Guangdong, it is celebrated for its intricate decorations, including wood carvings, stone carvings, brick carvings, ceramics, and plaster sculptures. Known as a “pearl of Lingnan architecture,” the hall offers visitors a rich insight into Guangdong’s artistry, craftsmanship, and cultural traditions.

Haixin Bridge

Haixin Bridge is a modern landmark spanning the Pearl River, connecting Zhujiang New Town with Haixinsha Island. Designed with sleek, flowing lines, the bridge becomes even more spectacular at night when it lights up in harmony with the illuminated skyline. It serves not only as a convenient passageway but also as a striking symbol of Guangzhou’s modern urban identity.

Canton Tower (Xiaomanyao)

The Canton Tower, nicknamed “Xiaomanyao” (the slender waist), is Guangzhou’s most iconic skyscraper. Rising 600 meters, it is the second tallest TV tower in the world. Besides broadcasting functions, it offers observation decks, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. Visitors can ride the high-speed elevator to the 433-meter “Star Observation Deck,” where sweeping views of the entire city unfold beneath them. At night, the tower comes alive with a dazzling light show that beautifully complements the shimmering Pearl River.
