3-Day Itinerary

+Day 1: Chengdu – Wolong Panda Reserve

Morning: Depart from your hotel in Chengdu and drive approximately 2 hours to the Wolong China Giant Panda Garden (Shenshuping Base), via the G4202 Chengdu Ring Expressway and G4217 Chengdu–Changdu Expressway. Upon arrival, take a short break before entering the reserve. The best visiting hours are from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, when the pandas are most active—you may see them eating bamboo, playing, or napping.
Lunch: Enjoy a self-paid meal at a local restaurant near the reserve, with a chance to try regional specialties such as smoked pork and wild vegetables.
Afternoon: Continue exploring the panda base. Learn about panda habits, breeding programs, and conservation efforts. Don’t miss the Panda Science Museum for an educational insight into the species. Surrounded by lush mountains and rivers, the nature reserve also offers beautiful scenic views worth savoring.
Evening: Overnight stay in Wolong.

+ Day 2: Wolong Panda Reserve – Daoming Bamboo Weaving Town

Morning: After breakfast, depart for Daoming Town, famous for its bamboo weaving craftsmanship. The journey is relatively long, so rest stops can be arranged en route.
Lunch: Upon arrival, have a self-paid lunch at a local eatery, featuring home-style Sichuan dishes.
Afternoon: Visit the Bamboo Weaving Museum to see a variety of handcrafted bamboo items. You may have the chance to watch live demonstrations by master artisans and learn about the history, evolution, and techniques of Daoming bamboo weaving. Stop by heritage workshops such as Yang Longmei Studio or Ding Zhizhu Workshop to admire intricate designs or try your hand at bamboo weaving at nearby "Youzhu Courtyard." Don’t miss the Bamboo Art Park with its skywalk and Bamboo Culture Pavilion—great for photos.
Evening: Overnight stay in a charming guesthouse in Daoming Town.

+ Day 3: Daoming – Chengdu Panda Base

Morning: Start your day with a relaxed stroll through the tranquil streets of Daoming. If time allows, visit any sights you missed the day before. Then drive approximately 1.5 to 2 hours back to Chengdu to visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Lunch: Upon arrival, enjoy a self-paid lunch at a nearby restaurant and take a short break before entering the base.
Afternoon: Follow the recommended route through the panda base. Enter from the South Gate and head straight to Villa No. 6 to visit “Hua Hua” (a beloved panda celebrity, if you're a fan!). Then explore the immersive "Panda Planet Light & Shadow Exhibit" that blends digital art with oriental aesthetics. Take the sightseeing shuttle to the Panda Nursery to see lively panda cubs up close. Continue on to visit other panda villas, then make sure to check out key attractions like the Panda Tower and the Panda Galaxy Pavilion. After your visit, return to downtown Chengdu.
