2-Day Itinerary
+ Day 1: Chengdu → Chongqing | Half-Day City Tour
Accommodation: Hotel in downtown Chongqing
Depart from Chengdu East Railway Station on your own and take a high-speed train to Chongqing North Station (no guide on board). Upon arrival, our staff will pick you up and transfer you to the assembly point at Jiefangbei area.At around 1:30–2:00 PM, the group tour begins:
1.Mountain City Trail (30 min)
Walk through old neighborhoods and explore landmarks like the Botai Vajra Tower, anti-Japanese war sites, and a cliffside boardwalk with river views.
2.Huguang Guild Hall (40 min)
Built in 1759, this historical complex features multiple halls representing immigrants from Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Jiangxi, and more.
Note: After September 2, 2024, this stop will be replaced with visits to Zhourong Residence and Guiyuan Garden due to renovations.
3.Great Hall of the People (Exterior only, 20 min)
An architectural icon and cultural landmark symbolizing Chongqing’s development.
4.Light Rail Experience
Ride the light rail through the famous Liziba station and see the unique "train through the building" up close.
5.Retro Ferry Ride (One Way)
Board at Hongyadong Wharf and cruise the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers.
Ferry ride is complimentary. In case of weather or water-level disruptions, it may be canceled without refund or substitution.
6.Yangtze River Cableway (One Way)
Ride across the mighty Yangtze with panoramic views of the twin riverbanks and skyline.
This attraction is complimentary. During holidays or if operations are suspended, no refunds or replacements will be offered.
7.Optional: Skyline Glass Walk “Sky Dome” (RMB 68/person)
Get a 360° panoramic view from high above the river confluence.
After the tour, return to your hotel to check in and rest.
Feel free to explore night scenes like Hongyadong on your own and return to the hotel at your convenience.

Enjoy a leisurely morning and explore the city at your own pace. Later, make your own way to Chongqing North Railway Station for the train back to Chengdu. Suggested activities during free time:
1.Try authentic Chongqing hotpot in a traditional alley.
2.Sample Chongqing noodles – a spicy, flavorful local favorite.
3.Taste classic Jianghu cuisine like spicy boiled fish, hot pepper chicken, or beer duck.
4.Shop and people-watch at Jiefangbei, Chongqing’s busiest commercial district.
5.Ride the Kaixuan Road Elevator, a unique indoor public elevator connecting upper and lower towns.
6.Experience the Crown Escalator, the longest escalator in China, featured in TV shows and films.

1.On Day 1, only pickups at Chongqing North Station are included. No airport or other station pickups.
2.Public transport such as the light rail, ferry, and cableway may involve waiting or crowds—please be patient and follow your guide’s instructions.
3.Train tickets will be based on actual booking; example reference trains:

The Great Hall of the People
This grand and imposing structure offers a deeper understanding of Chongqing's development and cultural heritage. It is one of the city's most iconic landmarks and is recognized as one of the "Top Ten Cultural Symbols of Chongqing." It is also the largest theater in the city.
Yangtze River Cableway
Known as the “First Aerial Corridor of the Yangtze River,” this iconic ride has been featured in several Chinese films and TV shows such as "The Railway of Zhou Yu", "Crazy Stone", and "Running Man". The cable car glides across the Yangtze, offering sweeping views of the mountains and river. It is Chongqing’s last remaining river-crossing cableway and now a must-see attraction, listed as a national 3A-rated tourist site.
Huguang Guild Hall
Located at No. 4 Dongshuimen Main Street in Yuzhong District, Chongqing, the Huguang Guild Hall was originally built in 1759 during the 24th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty, and expanded in 1846 (the 26th year of Emperor Daoguang's reign). Covering an area of 8,561 square meters, the complex includes the Huguang Guild Hall (also known as the San Chu Guild), the Guangdong Guild Hall, the Qian Guild Hall (also known as the Huangzhou Guild), as well as remnants of the Jiangxi and Jiangnan Guild Halls.
Liziba Light Rail Viewing Platform
Snap photos at this famous viral spot where the light rail literally runs through a building! At Liziba Station on Line 2, the train glides through the 8th floor, creating a surreal “roller coaster” effect that attracts photographers from all over China.
Hongya Cave
A must-visit landmark in Chongqing, Hongya Cave is a stunning 11-story complex built into a cliffside, modeled after traditional stilted buildings. By day, it showcases the charm of old Chongqing with shops, snacks, and souvenirs; by night, it transforms into a glowing wonderland of lights overlooking the river. It's the perfect place to feel the vibrant spirit of the mountain city.
