1-Day Itinerary

+ Day 1: Chengdu – Dujiangyan Panda Park – Dujiangyan Irrigation System – End of Tour in Chengdu

08:00 – Depart from the designated meeting point in Chengdu. Your private guide will be waiting to greet you and start the day’s journey.
09:30 – Arrive at Dujiangyan Panda Park, located in Qingchengshan Town, northwest of Chengdu. Known as a sparkling ecological gem, this park is a paradise for giant pandas and a living example of harmony between humans and nature. With its ideal climate and natural environment for pandas, the park is shaded with lush trees and bamboo groves, filled with birdsong and floral scents. The air is fresh and invigorating—like stepping into a natural oxygen bar. Built according to China’s national three-star green building standards, the facilities blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, offering a nurturing habitat for pandas and an enriching experience for visitors—a true feast for the senses.
11:30 – Leave the panda park and enjoy a unique panda-themed lunch.
13:00 – Visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 2,000 years of history. Stepping into this site is like traveling back to ancient Shu times.
Dujiangyan is the world’s oldest and only surviving no-dam irrigation system. It's not only a marvel of ancient Chinese engineering but also a shining example in global water management. The system remains functional today and exemplifies the wisdom of ancient Chinese civilization. More than just a water project, Dujiangyan is a place of scenic beauty and deep cultural heritage, where visitors can appreciate the brilliance of ancient hydraulic engineering and the profound philosophy of living in harmony with nature.
16:00 – Depart for Chengdu by bus.
17:30 – Arrive back in Chengdu. End of tour.

Tour 'Wow' Points

Dujiangyan Panda Park

Nestled in the lush green hills just outside Chengdu, Panda Valley is a peaceful haven dedicated to the protection and reintroduction of China’s most beloved national treasure—the giant panda. Unlike crowded zoos, Panda Valley offers an intimate, natural setting where you can watch these gentle giants roam, play, and nap in spacious bamboo forests. Learn about panda conservation efforts, meet panda cubs up close, and capture unforgettable moments with these iconic black-and-white bears. It's not just a visit—it's a chance to connect with nature, wildlife, and one of the rarest animals on Earth.

Dujiangyan

Located in the western part of Chengdu Plain, in the city of Dujiangyan, Sichuan Province, this ancient water conservancy project sits on the Minjiang River. It was originally constructed during the late Qin Dynasty under the command of Governor Li Bing and his son, who built it based on earlier works by the legendary figure Bie Ling. The Dujiangyan system, which includes the Fish Mouth, Flying Sand Weir, and Baopingkou, is the world’s oldest and largest water engineering project still in use today. Notably, it is unique for its ability to divert water without the use of dams.
