Which Countries Can Travel to China Without a Visa?
1. Visa-Free Entry for Ordinary Passport Holders Until December 31, 2025
Citizens of the following countries holding ordinary passports can enter China without a visa for business, tourism, family visits, and transit purposes, for up to 30 days:
France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Malaysia, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, South Korea, Brunei, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Japan.
2. Bilateral Agreements

According to bilateral agreements or treaties signed by China with relevant countries, citizens from certain countries can enter China without a visa under specific conditions. For detailed information, refer to the List of Visa Exemption Agreements:

Based on bilateral visa exemption agreements, except for activities that require prior approval (e.g., work, study, journalism, immigration), citizens of the following countries can enter China without a visa for a stay of up to 30 days:
Singapore.
For stays not exceeding 90 days within 180 days: Thailand, Kazakhstan, Antigua and Barbuda, Georgia.
3. Transit without Visa

24-Hour Visa-Free Transit:
Foreign travelers holding connecting tickets for international flights, ships, or trains can transit through China without a visa for up to 24 hours without leaving the port of entry. Those who wish to leave the port of entry must apply for temporary entry permission from the immigration authorities.

72/144-Hour Visa-Free Transit:
For countries eligible under China's 72/144-hour visa-free transit policy, the range of applicable countries has expanded to 54:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, Russia, the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Belarus, Norway, the USA, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, UAE, and Qatar.
Citizens from these countries can apply for visa-free transit at ports of entry within China, provided they hold valid international travel documents and a confirmed connecting ticket with a specified date and seat for travel to a third country (or region). The visa-free stay begins from midnight on the day following entry.

4. Foreigners Holding a Valid Foreign Residence Permit Issued by Chinese Public Security Authorities:
Foreign nationals with a valid residence permit for study, employment, family reunion, long-term visits, or permanent foreign correspondents must apply for residence procedures at the Public Security Bureau upon entry. During the validity period of the residence permit, foreigners can stay in China and enter and exit the country multiple times without needing a separate visa.
5. Foreigners Holding a Valid Permanent Resident Card for Foreigners of the People's Republic of China.
6. Holders of a Valid APEC Business Travel Card (since May 1, 2023, APEC Virtual Cardholders can enter China without a visa).
